we found out baby hayes gender on february 29th. the night before, i thought it would be fun to make "gender cupcakes," with either green (i didn't have blue food coloring) or pink frosting inside. they looked so much better in my head than the finished product.
we headed to the hospital and told the nurse to please put the "gender news" in an envelope. we wanted to do what we did with naomi--have lunch, just the two of us and find out the news in private. it was so fun last time! the appointment couldn't have gone better. the baby was healthy and doing great!
we headed to blue coast burrito (it was too cold for the park this time) and opened our envelope!!

after we found out the news, we drove around and gave a few gender cupcakes to some friends to tell them the news!
we topped off the day with a little sparkling cider.
it was definitely a day to remember.
