bird mobile

for my birthday last year, my husband got me a sewing machine and my mom got me this! these two gifts have been some of my favorite gifts ever! i have been dying to learn how to sew, but that was obviously next to impossible without a machine. then, to receive that cute little book with all kinds of adorable sewing projects, i couldn't help but dive into the world of sewing!

soo....what did i decide to try to tackle for my FIRST EVER sewing project? not a pillow or dishtowel...but a bird mobile. why i chose something so hard, i have no idea. i had to keep looking up "sewing terms" to understand the directions and it took me an hour and a half just to learn how to thread the bobbin. needless to say, it took me quite awhile (about 4 months of working on and off) to finish, but i have gained so much confidence to try other projects.
