back to 2011: december happenings

i didn't do much blogging in december so i am doing some major catch up. we were busy enjoying family that came to visit, going to christmas parties, shopping for presents, and practicing for the christmas production at our church. it was busy, busy, busy!
okay, here is a rundown of our december happenings.
we went to festival in downtown called "A Dickens of A Christmas." we were all excited to try some roasted chestnuts due to the classic christmas song, but, boy were we let down. they were so gross. i do not recommend them. i believe my mother-in-law had just taken a bite right before we snapped this photo.

some of the lovely girls i got to be in the Christmas production with. i had the privilege of being on the dance team. there is something so powerful about worshiping the Lord with your entire body. it brought chills to my body and i was in awe of the strong presence of the Lord that filled the room. it was such a powerful event to be a part of. there were a lot of hours, energy, and time away from family for the practices, but in the end, it was worth it.
we celebrated our own little family christmas!
naomi was not quite sure what to think of the wrapping paper, but in the end, i think she learned to appreciate it :)
especially when THIS was underneath all of that paper!
it was a very merry christmas in the hayes' household!
