after we spent some time with my family, we headed to kansas city to see peter's side of the family! naomi had caught some sort of stomach virus the day before we were supposed to leave. she was throwing up all evening and into the night. the next day, she seemed to be acting like herself again so we went ahead with our plans. the drive ended up being a bit rough though. naomi threw up on the way there. poor naomi had to sit in it for awhile until we found a rest stop. i felt so bad for her. i decided though, that cleaning up your child's vomit, her clothes, and her car seat in the mcdonalds parking lot pushes you into a new realm of parenthood.
we finally made it to kc in time for a wonderful dinner. it had been a year since we had been to kc so it was so great to be back.

we found naomi and brooklyn brushing their teeth...the sad part and the
gross part, is that i have no idea whose tooth brushes those were.
brooklyn was really good about making sure naomi was brushing right.
she even tried to put toothpaste on her toothbrush for her.
the trip ended with a bang as 5 of us woke up new years eve throwing up. apparently, whatever naomi had spread like wildfire to the rest of us. we are hoping that doesn't become a family tradition.

ReplyDeleteSecondly the tooth brushing pictures are CLASSIC! I bet if you work it just right your could capture this shot quite a few more times as they grow and have sleep overs etc... would be SO sweet over the years to see the same shot!
